Old Steam & Gas Club LAWN STOCK Garden Tractor Rules:
12hp - under 850#, 950#
16hp - under 1000#, 1050#
(16hp stock twin cylinder tractors allowed in 1000# and 1050# classes)
1. There must be a minimum of three (3) tractors to pull in any weight class.
2. No cut or modified tires, duel wheels, tire chains or steel wheels. 23-10.15 X 12 Maximum tire. 10" wide wheel maximum. (Stock front wheels). No ATV tires. No modified or aluminum wheels.
3. Open to any OEM single cylinder (only) garden tractor (16 hp max). B&S, KOHLER & TEC Engines only. Any overhead valve engines must be on original frame that it come on form OEM. Tractor must have reverse.
No aftermarket coils allowed, stock Kohler/OEM parts only.
3a. If tractor equipped with twin cylinder engine it must be 16hp or less and must have come on that tractor from the factory!!!
4. Persons under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign a permission slip. Fourteen (14) and under must be assisted during the pull. No one under age six (6) allowed. Ages six through ten (6-10) are required to have a tether switch installed on side of tractor. Must be able to reach pedals and control tractor. Must be a club member to pull.
Attention: $10.00 membership per year for Insurance reasons.
5. No more than two (2) drivers may register to pull the same tractor per class. Same tractor may pull twice in a class regardless of driver. Only one (1) award will be awarded per tractor per class. There must be at least five (5) hooks to award the pay back money of: $15-1st place, $10-2nd place and $7-3rd place.
6. Pulling tractors must be operated in a safe manner AT ALL TIMES.
7. Operator must remain seated and keep one hand on steering wheel; the seat must have a back on it at least a pan seat AT ALL TIMES.
8. No homemade tractors will be allowed to compete.
9. No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be permitted to participate or compete.
10. All pulls must start with tight hitch. NO JERKING PERMITTED.
11. Tractor engine will be original replacement, unchanged in outside appearance, with mass-produced muffler of small engine diameter.
The engine may be overhauled but to a maximum of .030 over stock bore, no rod bearings permitted.
12. Tractor must run stock carburetor or it's original replacement.
NO ALCOHOL OR RACING GAS PERMITTED 93 OCTANE OR LESS.
13. No electric fuel pumps permitted.
14. Mufflers optional.
15. All tractors must weigh in before each pull. Top three (3) tractors and drivers will weigh out at the same time after class. Top three (3) tractors are not to leave track area until after weigh out.
16. Each class will close when first tractor pulls or announcer calls class closed.
17. Driver is allowed two (2) attempts to start sled. Restart within 50 feet. Driver has two (2) minutes time limit from call to hook.
18. Driver must furnish a clevis or flat plate with 2"-3" hole for hook up. Hitch cannot be more then ten inches (10") above the ground and cannot be more then ten inches (10") out from tractor frame.
19. All engines in stock classes will run 4000 rpms or less and controlled by governor. NO SUICIDE THROTTLES. NO FOOT THROTTLES.
20. The tractor committee will not refund any money if disqualified.
21. Club is not responsible for damages sustained by or to your tractor while on pulling grounds.
22. No rear mounted attachments. Any attachment being used for weight must have drive belt removed. Mower deck lift lever and attachments brackets must be in place.
23. Front weights cannot exceed more than (72") inches from end of weights to center of rear axle. Weights cannot exceed more then twelve inches (12") from back or side of tractor. Rear weights not to extend beyond rear tires. Wheel weight bars (8") from tires. If anything falls off tractor or driver, driver will be disqualified. Hitch must be accessible for easy hook up. Wheelie bars are mandatory. If wheels are used they must have STEEL CENTERS. (See diagram below)

When we are using out sled and our scales, it is a points pull !!!

2. Front axle must be in stock location, no altered wheelbase.
3. Open to any OEM single cylinder (only) garden tractor (16 hp max.). B&S, KOHLER, AND TEC engines only. Any overhead valve engines must be on original frame that it came on from OEM. The engine must retain the factory cast-iron flywheel with NO alterations ie: grinding the fins down or removing them altogether.
Tractor must have reverse gear.
4. Tire size 26x12x12 maximum, may use aluminum wheels. No cut or professional pulling tires.
5. Seat must have back rest or pan seat, no flat seats.
6. Front weights cannot exceed more that 72" from end of weights to center of rear axle. Weights cannot exceed more that 12" from side of tractor.
Rear weights not to extend beyond the rear tires of the tractor.
7. Hitch must be accessible for easy hook up. 13" hitch height. Wheelie bars mandatory, if wheels are used they must have steel centers. Must have a working safety kill switch that shuts off ignition, switch will be located within range of 6" of either side of center of rear of tractor.
8. Mufflers are optional or vertical discharge stack.
9. May have foot or hand throttle control but must return to idle when operator lets go of handle or foot pedal.
10. Governor must control rpm's of engine at a maximum of 4000 rpm's.
11. No performance camshafts must be OEM no altering of camshaft.
12. Port and polish is acceptable of intake and exhaust ports.
13. Flat head milling is permitted, must be OEM head, no altering the head any other way.
14. All Engine parts must be OEM including head gasket. Rods can have bearing inserts. No reverse flow engines. Stock bore +.030 over. Stock valve dimensions. 1" carb venturi max. More than one crankcase vent allowed.
15. Racing or pump gas only allowed, 110OCTANE MAX.
16. Protest rule same as sport stock.
17. Top 3 tractors and drivers will weigh out at the same time after class. Top 3 tractors are not to leave track area until after weigh out.

Tear down rule: 1 complaint for tear down, if complaining person is right, club collects fee, if complaining person is wrong, tractor owner collects fee. Tear down fee $25 for top and $50 for total. This applies to all tractors.

Sport Stock Classes: 12HP and Under 1000# & 1050#
16HP and Under 1100# & 1150#
1. Stock bore+.030 Over
2. Camshaft .324 Lift max.
3. Stock Valve Dimensions, stainless steel valves allowed
4. Four Bolt rods allowed, must be stock length.
5. No crankshaft stroking or pop up pistons, piston can not pop out above block, steel cranks allowed.
6. No reverse port engines.
7. Head milling is permitted, no welding, but other head work permitted. Must be stock head, no recast or billet heads allowed, no relieved blocks. Port and polish allowed, can clean up around valve area but can not go into cylinder.
8. Single Cylinders only.
9. Carburetor shall be no larger than stock 30 carb. W/1" venturi. No spacers or velocity stacks allowed. Must be OEM carburetor.
10. OEM factory ignition system, chevy points allowed.
11. Flywheel, cast iron w/fins must have 1/8" steel or 3/16" aluminum all the way around. Cast w/plastic fins or steel can run stock shield.
12. OEM manufactured blocks only.
13. Pump gas or racing gas allowed, 110 octane max., no additives or alcohol allowed.
14. Open or locked rear ends permitted.
15. Tire size max of 26X12X12, cut tires and aluminum wheels allowed.
16. 13" hitch height.
17. 52" wheel base, with OEM tractor frame. Weights cannot exceed more than 72" from end of weights to center of rear axle or from 12" of rear or side of tractor. Rear weights cannot extend beyond the rear tires of the tractor.
18. Tractor must have working kill switch that shuts off ignition and fuel pump. Switch will be located within range of 6", either side of the center of the back of tractor, easily accessible.
19. Engine must have scatter shield on starter side, or inline consept.
20. Top 3 tractors and drivers are not to leave track area until after weigh out. all at the same time.
21. Any protest made, must be protested by the beginning of next class. Protest must be made by a person in the class. $25 for top end and another $50 for bottom end. Two tech committee or judges and owner must be present for tear down. If tech shows no violation, money goes to owner, if there is a violation, money goes to protester and points disqualified to time of protest. All tech tear downs will be done after last class. If violation found, tractor will have to prove to be legal to pull again.
22. Front crank shaft must have retainer bolt and washer if running with starter pulley.
