2012 Featured lawn tractor: CASE

The J. I. Case company began building farm machinery in 1842. To enter the lawn and garden tractor market, the company purchased Colt Manufacturing in 1964. The tractors were manufactured in Winneconne, Wisconsin. Case manufactured their lawn equipment in Winneconne until 1983, when Case's Outdoor Power Equipment Division was sold to Ingersoll Equipment.

These tractors sport a hydraulic system, and were mostly hydraulically driven (although some did have hydrostatic drive).

With the hydraulic system, a rear PTO valve can be installed which runs a multitude of attachments (factory tiller, wood splitter and wood chipper) along with just about any other hydraulically operated contraption you could dream up.
